Import Executive

Job Summary

The Import Executive is responsible for managing and coordinating the importation of goods and materials. This role ensures that all import operations comply with international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies. The Import Executive will work closely with suppliers, customs transitors, and internal teams to facilitate the smooth and timely arrival of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Import Documentation: Prepare and review import documentation, including invoices, bank permits, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.

Customs Compliance: Ensure all import activities comply with international trade regulations and customs laws. Work with customs transitors to clear shipments.

Vendor Coordination: Liaise with international suppliers and vendors to coordinate the shipment and delivery of goods.

Freight Management: Arrange and monitor international shipments, selecting the most cost-effective and reliable shipping methods & liaise with shipping lines.

Inventory Management: Track and manage the movement of goods, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely delivery to warehouses or production facilities.

Cost Control: Monitor and control import-related costs, including freight, duties, and taxes, to ensure budget adherence.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to import shipments, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies and any other.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records and generate reports on import activities, shipment status, and costs.

Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, purchasing, factory, and warehouse) to ensure seamless import operations.

Market Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, changes in import regulations, and market conditions that may impact the business.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in import operations, logistics, or supply chain management.

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and import/export procedures.

Skills:

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in using import/export management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
