Chief Accountant

Job Summary

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the hotel. This includes managing financial reports, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and leading the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial management in the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Supervise and train accounting staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Handle tax filings and other regulatory requirements.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting,
• Experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with SUN Accounting System, Opera, Micros and Material control is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
